The main product within the system is a specially designed electronic control unit which regulates the flow of liquid petroleum gas (LPG) that is inducted in to the air intake system of a Diesel engine. This results in a better, cleaner and more efficient burn of both diesel and LPG, with no harmful overgassing of your engine.
The electronic control unit closely monitors various engine sensors including the vehicle engine loads. The unit also controls a linear actuator, which forms part of a gas valve constricting the flow of LPG into the engines air flow. For safety reasons the unit can control up to four normally-closed solenoid valves to shut-off the LPG supply, should any abnormality be detected.
The system is unique and differs significantly from other basic products on the market. No other system has the ability to constantly monitor the flow of LPG. This is achieved by acting on mutiple input readings from the Diesel engine operating under normal parameters. We only induct as much LPG as is required.
A key feature of this unique system is that no modifications are required to the normal Diesel injection system and there is no interference with the vehicles own sophisticated electronic control systems. The ADGas main electronic control unit is designed into a sealed box, suitable for easy installation.
The system includes a switch fitted into the cab that provides information on system status and LPG tank level to the driver of the vehicle. The user can enable or disable the system from the cab. If the system was switched off the vehicle would simply return the engine to its normal Diesel only parameters. The vehicle will also revert back to its normal Diesel only performance if the LPG was to run out or if the system was to fail in anyway.
We don't have a knock sensor, as we only induct into the engine the required amount of LPG to make it work at its most efficient. We do not cause more engine knock to occur, in fact the opposite is more often the case.
